Timber Grieco

Timber Grieco passed away on September 15, 2026, one day after his twelfth birthday. A husky and German Shepherd mix, Timber was a deeply loved companion whose gentle spirit, loyal heart, and steady presence shaped the life of his family who adored him.

Timber came into the family when Erica went to the animal shelter looking for a companion. There, she found Timber and his brother, and decided to bring them both home. From that beginning, Timber became far more than a pet. He was a constant source of comfort and companionship, especially during a season when Erica was alone and on her own. He stayed by her through heartbreak and through happier chapters as well, including the years when the family grew and new babies were brought home.

Kind and docile by nature, Timber always seemed like an old man at heart. He had a calm, gentle way about him that made him easy to love. He loved kids, cats, and other dogs, and he was especially tender with each new baby welcomed into the home. He watched over the human babies with the heart of a protector, offering a quiet kind of devotion that brought reassurance and warmth to everyday life.

Timber found joy in simple pleasures. He enjoyed playing tug o war, chewing on chew sticks, and savoring chicken breast as a favorite treat. He loved going on walks and exploring around the neighborhood, and he was determined never to be left behind. If someone tried to walk another dog without him, Timber might decide to break out of the backyard just to make sure he got to come too. He also had a talent for getting through doors or gates, a mischievous streak that became one of the many stories his family will always remember with a smile. At home was where he was happiest, especially since car rides were never among his favorite things.

One of the sweetest ways Timber showed his love was by quietly coming close, resting his head in someone’s lap, or nudging his nose into an arm for attention. Timber leaves behind his beloved family: Erica, his owner; Thomas, Erica’s husband; and the children, Frankie, Finnley, and Maisie, whom he loved so gently and protected so well. He also leaves behind his litter mate, Zodiac, along with Penny the dog and Oliver the cat, all of whom shared in his home and his life.
