Sloopy Hale

October 20, 2015 — June 1, 2026

With a wagging heart full of memories and a sniff of bittersweet goodbye, we gather to celebrate the life of Sloopy, a tri-colored Basset Hound who graced the world from October 20, 2015, until his goodbye on June 1, 2026. Sloopy was not just any dog; he was a beacon of happiness, a four-legged symphony of love and laughter, whose days were filled with the purest kind of joy.

Rescued from the Odessa Animal Shelter in November 2017, Sloopy’s story was one of hope and transformation. From that moment on, his life was a tail-wagging adventure, brimming with boundless energy and a love that could melt any heart. He was a runner at soul—when the door creaked open, he seized his chance and sprinted into the world, chasing the wind like it held all his dreams.

Sloopy’s voice was unique and unforgettable. He loved to sing along with church choir music and the television, howling his way into the hearts of all who listened, making every note a celebration of life. His favorite treat, animal crackers, were always a delight, enjoyed with the simple pleasure only a dog could savor.

He was more than a pet; he was family. Sloopy leaves behind his devoted human parents, Marlon Hale and Patricia Brewer, whose lives he enriched beyond measure. Alongside his beloved fur siblings, Ellie and Libby, he shared countless moments of companionship, mischief, and unconditional love.

Known to meet strangers with a tail wag or a gentle nuzzle, Sloopy’s friendly nature made him a beloved figure in every place he explored. And oh, the car rides! To Sloopy, they were adventures waiting to happen, windows down, ears flapping, nose to the breeze—pure bliss in motion.

As we remember Sloopy, we cherish the imprints of his paws on our hearts and the echoes of his joyous singing in our memories. Though he has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, his spirit runs free and wild, forever a faithful friend, a loving companion, and a source of endless happiness. Run free, dear Sloopy, and sing your song among the stars. We’ll carry your love with us, always.
