Seirios KuyKendall, a beloved German Shepherd and cherished member of the Kuykendall family, passed away on August 28, 2026, at the age of 13. Born on March 27, 2013, Seirios brought love, laughter, and constant companionship from the very beginning of his life.
Seirios joined his family in May of 2013 as a birthday present, but it quickly became clear that he was much more than a gift. He chose his person by never leaving their side and by watching every move with complete devotion. From that moment on, he became a steady, loving presence whose bond with his family only grew deeper with time.
He never stopped acting like a puppy, no matter his age. Seirios was playful, talkative, deeply loyal, and wonderfully affectionate, with a personality larger than life. He was a big cuddler who showed his love freely, whether by sniffing and licking faces or by proudly bringing over his toys to share. He had a special way of making people smile and of turning ordinary moments into happy memories.
Seirios loved life’s simple joys with all his heart. Trips to the park meant soccer, fetch, and chasing after his tennis ball with endless enthusiasm. His soccer balls may have gone flat, but that never stopped him from carrying them around as if they were treasures. Squeaky toys were always favorites, and he delighted in playing with his sister, Aristeaus, and his little brother, Eeyore. He was also a devoted fan of treats, especially ice cubes, and could often be found waiting by the freezer for more. Chicken paws and just about any food at all also ranked high on his list of favorites.
Those who loved Seirios will always remember the little things that made him so uniquely himself. You had to watch your step when passing by him while he was resting, because in an instant he would jump up and follow along no matter what. Among the most treasured memories is a trip to the beach, where he leaped through the ocean waves with pure joy. He also loved traveling to the ocean and to Ruidoso, where he enjoyed watching the deer. At home, he found his greatest comfort sleeping on the couch during the day and stretched across his family’s legs in bed at night.
More than anything, Seirios was family. He was a son, a best friend, and a source of immeasurable happiness. He had a remarkable way of always being there and of knowing exactly how to make the people he loved feel better.
Seirios is survived by his dad and mom, Ray and Keisha Kuykendall, who loved him deeply and shared their lives with him every day. He also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Aristeaus, a dog, and Eeyore, a cat, with whom he shared play, companionship, and home. His memory will live on in the routines he filled with excitement, in the places he loved most, and in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to be loved by him.
Seirios will be missed beyond words and remembered always with love.
