Pua Alvarado

Pua Alvarado, lovingly known as Gorda, passed away on September 4, 2026, just days before her eleventh birthday. Born on September 18, 2015, Pua was a white French Bulldog who became an important part of her family from the day she joined them on September 18, 2017.

Pua was loyal, protective, territorial, and deeply lovely. She had a big spirit that filled every room and every moment she shared with the people who loved her. She enjoyed life in the most wholehearted ways: eating, taking pictures, lying down, and sunbathing in peace. Her favorite treats, peanut butter cookies and fresh strawberries, brought her special joy and were part of the small, sweet routines that made her so cherished.

She was also full of personality and mischief. Pua had a naughty habit of chewing on slippers and stealing Isabella’s plushies, only to hide them in her bed. Those playful moments became part of the family stories that will be remembered with laughter and tenderness. Among the memories held closest is watching her swim in the pool and seeing how fearless she was. Pua often seemed to forget that she was a small dog, ready to take on any other dog no matter the size or breed. That boldness was part of what made her unforgettable.

Pua showed her love in simple, beautiful ways. She would smile and settle into her family’s laps, offering comfort, closeness, and the kind of quiet companionship that says everything without words. She loved being with her people, whether visiting family in California and Mexico, walking at the beach or the park, or joining in on family road trips. Wherever the family went, Pua brought her own warmth and presence, making each outing feel more complete.

She leaves behind her loving family, Jazmin Montano, Alvaro Alvarado, and Isabella Alvarado, who gave her a home filled with care and belonging. She also leaves behind her daughter, Moana. In their lives, Pua was more than a pet; she was family, a steady and joyful presence whose love was felt every day.

Pua’s memory will live on in sunny afternoons, in beach walks and road trips, in the sight of a beloved plushie tucked away where it does not belong, and in the lasting love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
