In Loving Memory of Piranha

January 9, 2019 – July 16,2026

It is with deeply heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our beloved girl, Piranha. A beautiful gray and white Bully/Pitbull mix. Piranha was far more than a pet; she was our firstborn child, a dedicated guardian, and the very heart of our family.

Piranha came into our lives on March 5, 2019, at just eight weeks old, instantly transforming our world. From those early days, it was clear she possessed a soul that was remarkably human-like. She didn't just live alongside us; she walked through life with us, going everywhere we went. She was so intelligent. We always said she understood us completely. She didn't just listen for command words; she read our hearts, anticipated our moves, and knew exactly what we were talking about just by looking into our eyes. Whenever sadness crept into our home, and we found ourselves crying, Piranha was instantly there, pressing close to comfort us and dry our tears with her quiet, loving presence.

She was a striking girl, instantly recognizable by her endearing crooked ears and her missing teat. While her name sounded fierce, Piranha possessed a true heart of gold. She was fiercely loyal, protective, and an incredibly welcoming to anyone who visited our home.

Piranha’s favorite things in life were simple and filled with joy: endless belly rubs, delicious treats, giving kisses, and the wind in her face during a car ride, especially when those rides ended at the drive-thru window for her favorite pup cups. But nothing made her light up quite like a newborn baby. Whenever a tiny new life entered our home, Piranha’s eyes would dance with pure joy. Though she never had biological puppies of her own, she possessed a profound maternal instinct. She would have been an incredible mother, a truth she proved every single day once our daughter was born.

Piranha took her role as big sister seriously, constantly watching over our daughter, checking in to ensure she was safe, and eventually becoming the ultimate partner for games of tag and tug-of-war. Through it all, she was the definition of gentle.

Her journey wasn't easy. Piranha faced numerous medical hurdles throughout her life. Time and time again, we fought alongside her to save her, affectionately earning her the nickname of our "20k dog” not just because of the vet bills but because we knew that no amount of money could buy her personality and love. She was truly gifted. You cannot put a price tag on a love that pure. Her presence in our lives was worth every single penny and so much more.

Piranha played a monumental role in shaping who we are. She helped raise not only our daughter and the two dogs who followed in her footsteps, but she raised us, too. She taught us how to love beyond the boundaries of human connection, showing us a depth of devotion we will carry with us forever.

Piranha leaves behind her devastated but deeply grateful parents, Callie and Ivan, and her human sister, Ivy. She also leaves behind her beloved pet siblings: Poison, Plexxx, and Bun-bun the bunny.

Rest easy, our sweet, smart, beautiful girl. Thank you for these last 7.5 years of loyalty, protection, and for teaching us what unconditional love truly means. You fought so hard, and you gave us everything. The house is entirely too quiet without you, but your spirit will guard our family forever.
