Pepi Reyes

Pepi Reyes, affectionately known as Skippy, a spirited brindle Chihuahua and a beloved member of the family, passed away on May 4, 2026, just shy of his 19th birthday. Born on June 5, 2007, Pepi was a tiny bundle of life from the very start — so small he fit in the palm of a hand. His early days were tender and filled with care as he was bottle-fed, growing into a strong, powerful little dog whose heart and spirit dwarfed his size.

Pepi’s personality was as vibrant and bold as the brindle colors of his coat. Never one to be intimidated by size, he faced the world with a playful, mischievous bravery that brought endless joy to those around him. Loyal to the core, he was the companion who never left his humans’ side, always ready for a playful romp or a comforting cuddle.

Car rides and plane travel were among Pepi’s favorite adventures — the open road and skies held a special magic in his eyes. Beef jerky was his undeniable delight; a treat he savored with great enthusiasm. When presented with less appetizing options, Pepi had a comical way of expressing his displeasure, huffing and earnestly using his hind legs to send a clear message that the menu did not meet his standards.

Treasured moments with Pepi are abundant. His unwavering love and loyalty to Aixas, his human mom, stand out as the heart of his story. He was forever her loyal sidekick, sharing the warmth of her presence and the comfort of always being by her side. Pepi adored sleeping at Aixas’s side, finding his favorite spot near her every night. Together, they shared countless journeys and quiet moments — a bond woven through years of companionship. And every holiday season, Pepi’s twinkling eyes shone brightest when he was dressed in his Christmas outfit, a festive spectacle that captured the joy of his spirit.

Pepi leaves behind a treasure of memories with his beloved humans: Aixas, his brother and sister, Aixas’s grandchildren Jochy, Paul, Alex, and Nicky, as well as his fur sibling, Bo, known as "Happy Feet." Though his paws no longer pat beside them, the love and laughter he brought remain etched in their hearts.

To know Pepi was to experience a love that was fierce and tender, a spirit that was mighty despite his tiny stature. He taught all who met him the meaning of courage, loyalty, and the joy found in the simplest moments — a car ride, a favored treat, a cozy nap beside a beloved human.

Rest easy, dear Pepi. Your journey may have come to an end, but the warmth of your pawprints will forever linger beneath the hearts of those who loved you. Gone from sight, but never from spirit — your gentle love remains with us always.
