Nala Acosta

Nala Acosta, Beloved Pet and Family Member; passed away October 22, 2025 in her sleep around 3 in the morning.

Nala was 20 years old, she lived a long life with her mother Nidia Acosta and her father Daniel Esparza. Alongside her family members Dukes, Dante, Fernando and Gloria.

Nala was the only female and black dog of her family; the runt. When we first brought her into our home we didn’t know what to name her. Time passed and we all gathered to watch the movie “Lion King.” She came running towards me when she heard them yell out “Nala,” a character in the movie. I always tell people she picked out her own name. Tiny, mighty and full of life till the end. Nala will always be remembered and missed deeply.
