Mr. Piglet Heck

March 1, 2008 — October 29, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mr. Piglet Heck, a beloved family member and cherished friend, who journeyed from this world on October 29, 2025, at the age of 17. Born on March 1, 2008, Mr. Piglet graced our lives with his presence when he was hand-picked by a four-year-old Aurora as an Easter gift—a moment steeped in joy and excitement that we will forever treasure.

From the very first moment he joined our family, love bloomed between him and Aurora, and though he was originally thought to be a girl named Roxy, it was during a trip to Pet Smart that the revelation of his true identity as a boy led Aurora to bestow upon her new companion the name Mr. Piglet. It was a name that captured not only his delightful spirit but also his undeniable charm as he dug into meals with a gusto that earned him his playful title.

Mr. Piglet was so much more than just a cat; he was a smooth, cool, and charismatic being whose gentle nature left an indelible mark on all of our hearts. He exuded a calmness that soothed both young and old alike. His most cherished moments were spent napping with Iylah, the youngest. The bond they shared was a testament to his loving character — Mr. Piglet would lie patiently as she pulled herself up amidst his soft and fluffy coat, a gentleman through and through, never swatting or moving as she explored her newfound freedom.

In his laid-back way, Mr. Piglet communicated through the various sounds of his voice, meowing in tones and pitches that seemed to convey thoughts and feelings. Those who truly paid attention might have even sworn they heard him utter the word "HELLO." His intelligence was evident; he listened and responded in ways that revealed a deep understanding of our family dynamics. Of course, there were times when he simply couldn’t be bothered, turning his head with a gentle whimsy that always evoked a smile.

While Mr. Piglet was known for his friendly demeanor, he also possessed an adventurous spirit. He loved to prowl around as if he were the king of the castle, seamlessly transitioning from indoor comfort to outdoor exploration. His penchant for hunting meant there were always “prizes” left for us to discover, reminders of his stealthy pursuits.

Mr. Piglet was undeniably a foodie, devoted to all things culinary. He expressed his love for tuna, salmon, chicken, and even the occasional plastic item with an enthusiasm that was as comical as it was endearing. His antics included running at the sound of a tuna can opening or eagerly investigating any morsel that dared to fall to the ground. His joyful presence often required that we securely stowed away food items on high shelves, as evidenced by his determination to indulge in anything within reach.

The place that Mr. Piglet held in our hearts is irreplaceable, with every fleck of his soft, fine hair reminding us of the beautiful life we shared. Each piece of his fluffy coat that lingered on furniture, clothes, and even in the air was a loving reminder of his warm and comforting presence.

Mr. Piglet now rests beside Percy, our red-headed wiener dog who left us in January 2024. They shared a unique bond, with Percy allowing little Mr. Piglet to nurse even though she was never a mama before she was for Mr. Piglet as soon as he joined our family—a sweet memory that encapsulates the innocence and love that defined their connection.

He leaves behind his devoted family: Aurora, Iylah, Chuck, and Erin. The love we had for Mr. Piglet is immeasurable, and the void he leaves behind is profound. He has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, but his spirit will forever be woven into the fabric of our lives. Thank you, dear Mr. Piglet, for everything. You will always be the coolest cat that ever existed, and you will be missed more than words can express.
