Luna Salas

February 2, 2016 — November 19, 2025

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Luna Salas, who left this world on November 19, 2025, at the age of nine. Luna was born on February 20, 2016, and she quickly blossomed into everyone's beloved lap dog, transforming the lives of those who had the fortunate opportunity to know her.

With a personality that was as warm as her soft fur, Luna was a constant source of comfort and companionship. She had an uncanny ability to sense the feelings of those around her, becoming the silent but steadfast support for her human, Haydee, especially during difficult moments. A true emotional support, she would be there, cuddled close, bringing solace when tears were shed, her gentle presence a balm for the soul.

Luna was not just a lap dog; she was a vibrant spirit who lived life with an exuberance that never faded. Her love for play was undeniable, and she relished every moment spent chasing after her cherished ball, delighting in the games of fetch where Haydee's grandkids would join in joyous rounds until her energy would finally wane. Such simple moments created lasting memories that echoed with laughter and joy.

Life with Luna was full of adventures. She was the loyal companion who made every day brighter by simply wanting to be wherever she sensed affection and warmth. Whether it was jumping into the car for a spontaneous trip or accompanying her human to work each day, Luna had a way of inviting herself along, always eager to partake in the journey.

She joined her human’s world in 2018, a wonderful gift from the dear friend Eloy, and quickly became irreplaceable. Through trials like illness, including the challenges brought on by COVID, Luna remained steadfast. She would never leave Haydee's side, showcasing an unwavering love that filled their home with companionship, especially as the children moved out and the house echoed with silence.

Even her mischievous side brought a smile to the face of her family. Luna had an amusing habit of retreating to her safe spots whenever she knew she might have crossed a line, often seen putting herself in a time-out facing the wall—an adorable gesture that reflected her understanding of right and wrong.

As we reflect on her precious life, our hearts ache knowing that our last road trip together was a farewell, and the void she leaves is both profound and sorrowful. She will be missed beyond measure, her paw prints eternally etched in the hearts of her family.

Luna Salas was more than just a pet; she was family. Survived by her loving human, she leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories woven together with her mom, Haydee, and her siblings, Vanessa, Crystal, Samantha, Aaron, and Carlos, as well as Nate, along with eight nieces, three nephews, and her beloved fur nieces and nephews.

Though she may have crossed over the Rainbow Bridge, her spirit remains alive in each loving memory. Luna’s journey was a vivid reminder of the unconditional love that pets bring into our lives. She touched us all in ways words cannot fully express, and her loving heart will forever remain within us. Rest easy, sweet Luna; you will be missed more than words can say.
