Libby Marie Johnson, lovingly known as Liberty, Libby, Lib, Nib, and Nibber, passed away on October 5, 2026. A black Chiweenie with a funny, loyal spirit, Libby was a beloved and constant part of her family’s life from the very beginning.
Born in February 2014 at home to her parents, Paisley and Fenway, Libby spent her whole life with the family who loved her. She was able to remain where she was born, enjoying the comfort, familiarity, and closeness of home for all of her 12 years. More than a pet, Libby held a special place in the household as the family’s first child, and her presence helped shape the daily rhythms and sweetest memories of home.
Libby was known for her unique personality. She was funny, loyal, playful when she wanted to be, and wonderfully chill. She loved the simple comforts of life most of all: napping on the couch next to Mom, curling up to sleep on the bed, and finding her way to any table scraps she could get her paws on. She had her own way of choosing people, and while she was never much of a fan of men, anyone fortunate enough to win her over was rewarded with endless affection and kisses, because once Libby liked you, she would never stop licking.
She leaves behind the family who cherished her deeply: her mom, Camryn; her dad, Ashton; her siblings, Mattie and Swayze; and her pet siblings, Bender, Lady, and Chopper. In their home, Libby’s absence will be deeply felt—in the quiet spaces on the couch, in the bed where she loved to sleep, and in the everyday moments she made brighter simply by being there.
Libby was preceded in death by her parents, Paisley and Fenway.
Libby’s life was filled with comfort, love, and belonging. She will be remembered for her loyal heart, her funny ways, her easygoing nature, and the special bond she shared with her family. Her memory will remain a treasured part of their lives always.
