Jolene Hunter, fondly known as "JoJo," passed away on January 8, 2026, at the age of 14. Born on August 10, 2011, JoJo graced the lives of those around her with her sweet, playful, and loving personality. A mixed breed with a striking black coat adorned by a white belly and white paws, she captured hearts with her beautiful one blue eye.
JoJo was not just a pet; she was a beloved family member who embraced every moment with joy and enthusiasm. Her adventures began when she was rescued from Austin Pets Alive in 2011, and it was clear from the start that she brought an abundance of happiness to her new home. Her love for snuggling meant that, if you gave her any attention at all, she would happily curl up in your lap, radiating warmth and affection.
One of her favorite places was the ranch, where she relished the freedom to run and play. JoJo's spirit shone brightest when she was throwing the ball or engaging in a spirited game of chase. Though she was known for her mischievous streak — often seen getting into the trash and sampling everything — these antics only added to her charm.
Among her cherished memories is the unforgettable moment she experienced the beach for the first time during a family honeymoon trip. This special day remains a treasured memory for those who shared it with her.
JoJo will be deeply missed by her family, including Sara, Otis, Owen, and Robbie. She leaves behind a legacy of joy and love, and she will be reunited with her brother, Yuma, and sister, Layla, in heaven.
As we remember JoJo, we hold dear the countless moments and memories she gifted us. Her playful spirit and loving nature will forever remain in our hearts.
