Jake Kemper

With heavy hearts and tearful eyes, we bid farewell to our beloved Jake Kemper, known fondly as Mister and brother dog. Born on March 10, 2016, this spirited Mini Dachshund graced our lives until May 15, 2026, leaving paw prints on our hearts that will never fade.

Jake was the embodiment of mischief wrapped in loyalty, a sweet cuddle bug who craved naps as much as adventure. His days were filled with joyous pursuits—chasing squirrels in relentless pursuit and barking songs that echoed his zest for life. Food was his passion; cheese, piggy rolls, and fast food were among his favorites, treats that brightened his days and made tail wag.

Our treasured memories of Jake span a lifetime of love and laughter. Who could forget the moment he shredded the leather recliner, a mischievous act that showcased his spirited nature. Twice gracing the cover of Dachshund Lovers magazine, our cover model was a star in his own right, reigning proudly as the #1 stroller rider—always ready to ride in style. But beyond his antics, Jake was a healer of broken hearts, a faithful best friend, and the most loving bed partner. He loved curling up beneath the covers, snuggling close as only he knew how, showing endless love through gentle licks and the joyful wag of his tail.

Jake’s absence leaves a void, but his spirit remains vibrant in the hearts of his human mom, Shaundra; his sister, Scarlet; and his fur sibling, Apple-Tini. They will carry forward his legacy of love, comfort, and boundless cuddles.

Though he has journeyed beyond the rainbow bridge, Jake's loyalty, sweetness, and mischievous charm continue. He taught us the true meaning of devotion, healing, and joy—the irreplaceable magic of a dog who loved with everything he had.

Rest peacefully, dear Jake. You were more than a pet; you were family, a faithful companion, and forever our cuddle bug. Thank you for every lick, tail wag, and snuggle. Until we meet again, you will run free in endless fields, chasing squirrels and basking in the warmth of our eternal love.
