Honey Bernal

May 2, 2019 — June 11, 2026

Honey Bernal, lovingly known as Honey Bunz, Baby Girl, and Bunny, was a radiant American bully who left paw prints on many hearts before her passing on June 11, 2026. Born on May 2, 2019, Honey came into her family’s life just days later on May 19, bringing with her a golden glow that matched her fur and gleamed brightly from her beautiful golden eyes with distinctive blue markings around her eyes, nose, and ears—markings that made her uniquely Honey.

Honey was a bundle of dynamic spirit wrapped in warmth. Sweet yet delightfully spontaneous, she was a character who was as feisty and vocal as she was outgoing. Her joy was contagious, lighting up the lives of everyone fortunate enough to share a moment with her. Whether she was barking gleefully at birds fluttering just out of reach or sneaking to chew on sock heels, Honey was full of fun and mischief. She had a special fondness for chasing those little winged creatures and a playful determination that sometimes tested the patience of her dog brother, Brutus, but it was all part of their sibling bond, deepening the unique friendship that started immediately the day she arrived and met Brutus.

Her love reached far beyond playtime. Honey was a heartfelt companion who loved nothing more than belly rubs, scratches, and long walks in the park. Cuddles were her comfort, whether in her favorite chair or snuggled up in bed alongside her beloved dad, John, or resting comfortably in the lap of her uncle Jay, whom she adored enough to shower with endless kisses. Car rides in the truck, pup cups, and croissants from Starbucks were among her simple pleasures, topped only by treats like cheese, Alberto’s chips, and whatever goodies her dad or Uncle Jay had at hand. Her affection for her family was sweet and unmistakable, making their bond especially touching.

Honey was not just a pet; she was a healer. Through the ups and downs that life tossed at John, Honey stood faithfully by, radiating a spark of hope and love when it was most needed. She brought laughter and light, filling her family’s home with joy and comfort, reminding them daily how precious each shared moment was.

She leaves behind a human family who adored her: her dad John, her uncles Jay and Derrell; aunts Nikki and Kayla; grandmothers Elda and Ellie; grandpa Joe; and a chorus of nieces and nephews—Ka’MijahNae, Damarion, Willis, Josie, and many more—who all carry her memory fondly. Her fur sibling Brutus, who shared countless adventures and tender moments, will miss her spirited companionship dearly.

Honey’s journey was deeply treasured, and her legacy is painted in the golden hues of love, loyalty, and joyous spirit. Though her paws no longer patter across the floors, her heart forever rests snug in the laps and lives of those who loved her best. Goodbye, dear Honey Bunz. You will be missed every day, but your love keeps bounding forward, eternal as the brightest golden sun.
