Today our hearts are incredibly heavy as we say goodbye to our sweet fur baby Grimace Ligon also known as Chunky, who was part of our family for 15 beautiful years.
The best 25 bucks ever spent in November of 2010 he was our first child, the one who taught us how to care, how to nurture, and how to love in a way only a pet can teach. Through every season of life, he was our protector, our comforter, and our very best friend. So much that when baby sister lost her umbilical cord, he decided to be united to her forever and eat it.
His passion for food was one we always admired as he would eat anything he could reach and sometimes, he found himself in overstuffed situations. So many stories of missing meat, 6-inch subway sandwiches and Taco Villa burritos.
For 15 years he greeted us with unconditional love, wagging his tail like we were the greatest thing in the world. He watched over our family, comforted us in hard moments, celebrated with us in the joyful ones, and loved our children as if they were his own.
On the morning of March 10, 2026 he went to sleep and peacefully crossed the rainbow bridge. While our hearts ache deeply, we are grateful that his passing was gentle and filled with the same peace he gave us every single day of his life.
Our home feels quieter today, but the love and memories he gave us will live in our hearts forever. Leaving behind his dad Alex Ligon, Jr, mom Karina Ligon, little sister - Maria Alejandra Ligon and little brother - Josue Ligon. As well as his pet siblings Sassy and Ollie who loved to annoy him and find ways to test his patience.
We thank God for allowing you to be our loyal companion, our caregiver, and the best friend we could have ever asked for. You were everything we needed when we needed you. You were never “just a dog.” You were family.
