Chewbacca (Chewie) Sartain

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Chewbacca Sartain, lovingly known as Chewie, who left us on October 17, 2025. Born on January 4, 2014, Chewie graced our lives with his unwavering loyalty, a spirit as vast as the lakes he loved to imagine traveling through.

Chewie was not just a pet; he was a confidant, a guardian, and a source of unconditional love. His growls, reminiscent of the beloved Wookiee from Star Wars, brought laughter to our days and warmth to our homes. He had a remarkable way of expressing his feelings, his voice carrying that special growl which felt like a melody only the closest of friends could understand.

Beyond his heroic spirit, Chewie was a master of cuddles. He loved to snuggle close, tucking his nose into the crook of our necks, bringing an overwhelming sense of comfort and security. Each cuddle was a reminder of the bond we shared, a connection that words couldn’t capture.

One of Chewie’s greatest loves was adventure. He had a passion for exploring the great outdoors, whether spending countless hours on the nose of a kayak, while his human was casting lines into serene waters. Every trip was a new opportunity to discover, to bond, and to make unforgettable memories.

Chewie lived every moment to the fullest and taught us the true meaning of loyalty and companionship. As we bid farewell to our dearest friend, we hold onto the cherished moments we spent together. In our hearts, Chewie will forever remain the loyal, growling companion that added immeasurable joy to our lives. Rest in peace, dear Chewie; you will be missed more than words can express.
