It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chelsea, a brown and white basenji mix, who left paw prints on the hearts of her loving family on March 7, 2026. Born on April 10, 2015, Chelsea was truly one of a kind, a spirited canine who brought joy, laughter, and a little bit of mischief into every day.
With a personality as vibrant as her playful spirit, Chelsea was known for her loyalty and protectiveness over those she loved. She had her quirks, like her stubborn streak—she had an endearing way of insisting on doing things her own way, which often brought a smile to her human family's faces.
Chelsea cherished her favorite activities, from playing fetch with her squeaky toys to diving into the water for a swim. The delight she found in chasing after her ball or stick was infectious; she only connected with people if they were holding one of her beloved toys. Those moments were filled with joyous antics and wagging tails. Chelsea also had a soft spot for the sweeter things in life, refusing to eat a chip without dip and reveling in every taste of chicken or sweet treats that came her way.
At home, Chelsea was queen of her own castle, delighting in the comfort of her cozy bed, which she guarded fiercely, preferring to keep it all to herself. Her family included her adoring mom, Zaira, along with her siblings Kenneth, Shaira, and Keilyan, all who will forever remember this playful spirit who brought so much love into their lives. She also shared her home with her fur siblings, Lucas, Sophie, Corndog, and Jamal, creating a lively household filled with love, laughter, and the unmistakable bond that only furry companions can share.
As we celebrate Chelsea's remarkable life, we hold tight to our treasured memories. She taught us about love, loyalty, and the simple joys of throwing a ball or splashing in water. Though her lively spirit will be dearly missed, her legacy of love continues to resonate in the hearts of her family, who will forever cherish the moments they shared with their one-of-a-kind Chelsea. Rest in peace, sweet girl; may you chase those balls and sticks in the endless fields of joy above.
