Boone Bear Rose, a beloved Black English Lab and a true blessing to the family who loved him, crossed the rainbow bridge on August 27, 2026. Born on May 16, 2011, Boone lived a life full of devotion, personality, and unforgettable spirit. His name meant “blessing,” and for all who knew him, that meaning fit him perfectly.
Boone was adopted by Eric and Laura, and from the beginning he became a steady and cherished part of their lives. He was playful, loyal, mischievous, protective, funny, and smart, with a controlled temperament that made him both dependable and deeply comforting. He was tough as nails, yet full of tenderness with his people. In so many ways, Boone was the rock for those around him—strong, compassionate, steady, and loving to all who truly loved him.
He found joy in the things that made life exciting and sweet. Boone loved to hunt, even if he became notorious for only retrieving a handful of birds. That small bit of stubborn charm was part of what made him so memorable. He loved tug of war and fetch, and he was always ready for a car ride, a trip to the lake, or time at the polo fields. He loved to swim and even do cannonballs, bringing laughter and life wherever he went. At home, he treasured snuggles, sleeping on the couch, stretching out on the family bed, and enjoying his time in Whitney.
Boone also had a personality that could not be ignored. He loved any and all foods except cherry tomatoes, and he had a habit of knocking over furniture. He left behind stories that will be told for years to come, including the unforgettable time he broke Pappy’s collarbone during a walk. Even in his mischief, Boone’s spirit was larger than life, and he brought a special kind of joy that could never be replaced.
He showed love in the ways dogs do best: through protection, a wagging tail, a steady presence, and the quiet gift of accepting affection from his people. One of the sweetest parts of his life was the bond he shared with his best friend Sawyer, especially the times Boone loved listening as Sawyer read to him at night. He particularly enjoyed snuggling sawyer on the couch to watch a movie or whatever Sawyer wanted to watch. Those moments, simple and gentle, reflected the deep place Boone held in the heart of his family.
Boone was greeted by his fur brother Duke at the rainbow bridge. He leaves behind his humans, his mom Laura, his dad Eric, and his brother Sawyer, who loved him in every way. He also leaves behind his fur daughter, Lulabelle, and many human family members who loved him dearly. Each of them carries forward the memory of his steadfast love, his humor, his protectiveness, and the comfort of his presence.
Boone Bear Rose will be remembered for his strength, his heart, his mischief, and the deep love he gave so freely. His paws left lasting marks on the hearts of those who knew him, and his memory will live on in lakeside days, bedtime stories, car rides, wagging tails, and the countless quiet moments of love he made so meaningful.
